Waddendown - Free-range down by Texelwool

Waddendown is 90% pure duckdown and originated from the waddenislands in the Netherlands. Ofcourse down that is produced in free nature. Due to the high percentage down the duvet feels wonderfully light and has a high isolation value.

Waddendown is recognizable to the gray colour, characteristic for the real free-range down.

TexelWool has her own wool collection extensive with a warm and light weigthed duvet: Wadden down. The used down is originated of thousands wild ducks, under which eider ducks, who live in the waddenregion.  

In autumn and winter the wild eiderducks flock to the wadden area, a rich food area full of cockles and mussels. The eider ducks remain in the wadden area until spring (after the breeding season) When they leave, they have lost their down feathers, which provide protection against the winter cold. 

Sustainable responsibility

The downfeathers that after the breed period stay behind will be picked up and processed in the special duvet. Wadden down of TexelWool therefor exists 90% of down and 10% out feathers that on ecological way is obtained.

Quality

The down from the eiderducks is made of high quality and has unique qualities, as a result of which it feels very comfortable and is good isolating. A few pond of waddendown suffice for a wonderfully warm and light duvet. Waddendown is recognizable to the gray colour, characterized for real free-range down. 

The duvet is available in a winter (1), all year long (2) spring/autumn (3) and summer duvet (4). To make a 4 seasons duvet you can connect duvet (3+4) through the buttons.
