Ducky Dons Nextlife duvet 4-seasons
Nextlife 4-Season Duvet – 70% Recycled Down
The Nextlife 4-season duvet by Ducky Dons is a wonderfully soft duvet. The filling consists of 70% recycled down and 30% feathers. The cover is made of 100% cotton (NM70) and features the Nomite label, making it suitable for people with dust mite allergies. Through the Donsretour® collection program, used down duvets and pillows are collected and kept out of landfills. NEXTLIFE® is the result of a high-quality production process using 100% recycled down and feathers, developed by Ducky Dons in-house.
Warmth Class
The Nextlife 4-season duvet from Ducky Dons can be used throughout the year. It consists of two separate parts that can easily be attached with snap buttons, allowing you to adjust the insulation level for each season. For spring and autumn, the part with warmth class 3 provides comfort. For summer, there’s a separate part with warmth class 4. By combining both parts, you’ll stay warm in winter with warmth class 1.
About Ducky Dons
Ducky Dons duvets are fully produced in the Netherlands, from washing the feathers and down to filling the duvets and pillows. The entire production process meets the strictest European standards and is supervised by the Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (VWA). This ensures high quality and optimal sleep comfort.
NEXTLIFE® Recycled Down and Feathers
High-quality, sustainable recycled down and feathers from the Netherlands. Super clean and with the same properties as new down!
Environmentally Friendly
Unfortunately, duvets and pillows filled with down and feathers often end up in landfills or are burned when they reach the end of their life. This is a waste! While the cover may be discolored or worn, the filling is often still in excellent condition. Through a collaboration with regional textile collectors, thrift stores, and the Donsretour® collection program, used duvets and pillows are collected and kept out of the incinerator. NEXTLIFE® is the result of a high-quality production process of 100% recycled down and feathers. No new materials are used, and the entire production process takes place in the Netherlands.
Super Clean and Hypoallergenic
When it comes to hygiene, NEXTLIFE® matches the standards of new down and feathers. Laboratory tests show that NEXTLIFE® meets industrial standards for cleanliness and is hypoallergenic. The turbidity (a measure of cleanliness) is over 1000mm, where the European standard requires a minimum of 300mm for down and feathers. The oxygen content (used to detect foreign organic material) is even lower than 4, while the European standard allows a maximum of 20.
The cleaning process begins with a critical pre-selection of raw materials. Low-quality down and feathers are removed and used for organic fertilizers. Down and feathers that pass the pre-selection are thoroughly washed with water and soap, dried, and sterilized according to strict European standards. Every NEXTLIFE® batch is checked by the independent feathers and down laboratory (IDFL) in Switzerland.
The Same Comfort as New Down
NEXTLIFE® offers the same sleeping comfort as new down. This is due to the critical selection of raw materials and the thorough cleaning process. The down is separated from the feathers using sorting machines. Excess broken feathers and down fibers are removed through various filters. NEXTLIFE® guarantees high quality and ultimate sleep comfort, just like new down.
Sustainable Production Process
According to several studies, including the Higg Materials Sustainability Index (Higg MSI), down production has a significantly lower environmental impact compared to wool and polyester. NEXTLIFE® is even more environmentally friendly than new down, as it is made from existing materials that would otherwise be burned. NEXTLIFE® down and feathers are entirely produced in the Netherlands, ensuring full control over the quality and sustainability of the process. Only biodegradable soap is used in the washing process. The used water is purified on-site and then sent to the regional wastewater treatment facility. A remarkable 70% of the electricity used in the entire production process comes from solar panels. The covers of the cut-up duvets and pillows are not burned but processed into fibers for use in insulation materials. Down and feathers of too low a quality are not discarded but returned to nature, processed into organic fertilizers for agriculture and horticulture. This ensures that the entire duvet is recycled, saving both the environment and new raw materials. The collection and recycling process for NEXTLIFE® is certified according to the Global Recycle Standard (GRS), meaning that the recycling methods meet strict requirements for traceability, environmental impact, and labor conditions, and are independently verified.
